Made entirely by hand and processed by the method of blackening on tin, the miniature depicts the Holy Prince Peter and his wife Fevronia, the Murom miracle workers. The two are depicted in the miniature as one:
"And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh."

This couple is the living embodiment of the ideal of Christian marriage, love and fidelity. The history of the saints is described in the monument of ancient Russian literature "the Story of Peter and Fevronia of Murom" (mid-XVI century); the couple wisely and justly ruled in the city of Murom in the late XII - early XIII centuries, lived happily and died in one day and hour.
Holy princes Peter and Fevronia are revered as patrons of marriage; they offer prayers for peace in the family, strengthening marital ties and family well-being.
