Dutch sailing barges appeared in the 16th century (according to written records) in Friesland. Small vessels of this type were used to catch eels on lakes, while larger vessels were used to fish in the Wadden Sea region. The biggest ones were used to transport live eels from the Netherlands and Denmark to London. The crew consisted of a captain and two sailors.
The model is built entirely by hand, with a complete set of hulls (admiralty model) and interior. The master depicted the moment of completion of the construction, when it remained only to sheathe the left side. Material - apple tree.
